Summary:

At East River Medical Imaging, our mission is to consistently provide the highest quality and availability of diagnostic imaging with compassion and comfort for our patients. Each of our physicians is certified by the American Board of Radiology. Together, they represent all areas of sub-specialty medical imaging, including cross-sectional, musculoskeletal, oncologic and neuroradiology. We are currently seeking a full-time PET/CT Technologist perform routine and advanced PET/CT procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeats.

Duties:

  • Screens patient before the procedure for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination.
  • Explains and prepares patients for PET/CT procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure.
  • Assesses, prepares, records and administers radio pharmaceuticals according to NRC and/or State regulations.
  • Administers radio pharmaceuticals via intravenous methods to patients.
  • Performs and records daily quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation.
  • Performs and records daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines
  • Troubleshoots when possible, and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance of radiation standards of the department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State Regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Certificates and Licenses:

  • Dual NYS License required, RT and Nuclear Medicine as well as NMTCB or ARRT registry, current and in good standing.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office word processing software.

Certificates and Licenses:
Ultrasound specialty training certification (ARDMS), active BLS training.
