Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

At?East River Medical Imaging our mission is to consistently provide the highest quality and availability of diagnostic imaging with compassion and comfort for our patients. Each of our physicians is certified by the American Board of Radiology. Together, they represent all areas of sub-specialty medical imaging including cross-sectional, musculoskeletal, oncology and neuroradiology.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

We are seeking an individual with an exceptional background as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to join our Patient Financial Services team. Responsibilities of the role and the Qualifications required are listed below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Abstracts data from medical reports/records for compliant/accurate documentation per state and regulatory guidelines to obtain optimum reimbursement

  • Assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT4 codes to documentation pertaining to radiological and interventional procedures.

  • Attends and participates in coding-related educational activities and management meetings, as directed.

  • Stays abreast on coding procedures in order to utilize state of the art methods of accurate reimbursement.

  • Assures timely submission of charges.

  • Entry of charges into departmental databases.

  • Reviews and completes all billing edits & rejects

?Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification through the American Academy of Professional Coder required.

  • Three years of ICD-10-CM coding experience preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.

  • Organized, detail oriented, must display accuracy and thoroughness in specified responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively and build report with colleagues and patients; and to respond in a tactful and professional manner

  • Working knowledge of Medicare and commercial insurance billing requirements, regulations and guidelines

  • Multi-tasker, team player, problem solver

  • Commitment to follow HIPAA privacy and security standards
