IT Support Specialist

Summary

At East River Medical Imaging, our mission is to consistently provide the highest quality and availability of diagnostic imaging with compassion and comfort for our patients. Each of our physicians is certified by the American Board of Radiology. Together, they represent all areas of sub-specialty medical imaging, including cross-sectional, musculoskeletal, oncologic and neuroradiology.

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to join our IT team. This position provides technical support to employees and patients, including troubleshooting hardware, software, applications, equipment, and patient portal-related issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in IT support and systems administration, along with knowledge of medical imaging technologies and workflows, including PACS, DICOM, and HL7.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support via phone, email, and ticketing system; troubleshoot hardware, software, network, application, and user-access issues while documenting and tracking requests through resolution.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment; support workstation setup, equipment deployment, onboarding/offboarding, and IT inventory.
  • Support and maintain the organization's EMR and related applications, including user accounts, security groups, exam codes, procedure codes, statuses, flags, exam tags, and other system configurations.
  • Support medical imaging applications and workflows, including troubleshooting issues related to PACS, DICOM, HL7, and other healthcare technologies.
  • Assist with software and hardware implementations, system updates, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment of system enhancements.
  • Provide patient-facing technical assistance, including guidance and support with the patient portal.
  • Follow established IT policies, security standards, and procedures while providing professional, responsive customer service.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Associate's degree (2-year) or Equivalent Certs in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another relevant field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, systems administration, or a related technical role.
  • Working knowledge of medical imaging systems and technologies, preferably including PACS, DICOM, HL7, and EMR/EHR systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows computers, Microsoft 365, business applications, hardware, peripherals, and network connectivity.
  • Experience with Active Directory administration, security groups, application configuration, and system troubleshooting.

Preferred

  • Healthcare IT or radiology experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a healthcare and may occasionally enter patient care and imaging areas. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, medical devices, and controlled clinical environments. The noise level is generally moderate.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate, use a computer, walk, stand, reach, and perform administrative and coordination tasks. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds may be required.
